The alliance between US President Donald Trump and Elon Musk ended on Thursday, just days after the world's richest person left the state administration.
Initially, two of the most powerful and influential men in the world created an alliance, which greatly influenced Donald Trump's return to power.
Elon Musk supported him throughout the campaign, while Trump gave him an important post in the new administration.
Musk was appointed head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE, created to reduce spending. The goal was to cut costs, saving up to $1 trillion, but this goal was not fully achieved.
Elon Musk's resignation
Musk unexpectedly resigned from the position, stating that he wanted to focus on his businesses. However, this was expected, as it had previously been said that he would remain temporarily in the administration.
Attacks on Donald Trump
Peace is over! Musk has launched a scathing attack on a budget bill that supports Trump's agenda. He expressed disappointment with the package's cost and the promises it contained.
The law in question includes major tax cuts, increases in the defense budget, and allowing state borrowing at new levels.
In the days that followed, Musk called Trump's bill "shameful and disgusting."
Trump "threatens" Musk
The conflict culminated on June 5, when Trump threatened to stop government contracts with Musk, while the latter reminded him that he would not have won without his help.
Trump said he had asked Musk to leave the administration and accused him of removing subsidies for electric vehicles. Recall that Musk himself owns one of the most popular electric car companies, Tesla.
Musk "drops the bomb"
The statement that followed was quite heavy. Musk said that Trump's name was in the files of the Jeffrey Epstein case, and that's why they haven't been made public.
Jeffrey Epstein was a notorious financier who was convicted of sexual abuse and committed suicide in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. The dossier also includes a network of people he collaborated with, including US President Donald Trump, according to Musk.
In response, Trump called Musk "crazy."
