Okay, summer is great for a lot of things - vacations, tanned skin, flower headshots, but not so much for the bloated feeling in your belly that makes you want to wear nothing but a baggy T-shirt. But why does this happen?
Often, the mixtures we make with food, high temperatures, and the amount of water we drink (or don't drink) directly affect digestion. To avoid this annoying bloating, just add these simple foods to your summer day:
Watermelon - the king of the season and a good friend to the stomach! It has a lot of water, helps cleanse the body and is delicious as hell.
Tomatoes - not just for salads! Tomatoes are rich in potassium, which helps reduce water retention in the body. So, less bloating, more comfort.
Greens as much as you want - spinach, arugula, green salad, etc., take whatever you want and your body will thank you. Easy to digest and full of fiber = a calm stomach.
Kiwi - this little fruit is great for digestion and doesn't need much advertising. A kiwi in the morning and you'll feel better throughout the day.
Cucumbers - lots of water, lots of freshness.
Forest fruits - blueberries, raspberries, blackberries are very tasty, low in natural sugar and full of fiber that helps with digestion. Plus, they look beautiful on any plate. Aesthetics + health.
Avocado - rich in good fats and potassium, avocado improves digestion and keeps you full without bloating.
Bonus: Drink water regularly (in moderation), avoid carbonated drinks, and try to eat more slowly. It may sound like advice from your mom, but it works!
