The famous actor Donald Sutherland has passed away at the age of 88. The actor's son announced the news through a post on Instagram.
"It is with sadness in my heart that I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away," writes Kiefer Sutherland. "I personally think that he remains one of the most important actors in the history of film. He was never afraid of any role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved and never asked for more. A life well lived,” he added.

Actor Sutherland was known for his roles in "The Hunger Games" and many roles in films and television.
Sutherland played Mr. Bennet in "Pride and Prejudice" in 2005 with Keira Knightley and Hawkeye Pierce in "M*A*S*H" in 1970. He also had many other roles in films such as "Ordinary People" (1980) and "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" (1978) etc.
His last roles were in TV series, such as "The Undoing" and "Trust and Swimming with Sharks".
The well-known actor has won an Emmy Award for the film "Citizen X", while he received an Honorary Oscar Award in 2017, an appreciation award for his roles in cinematography.
Despite his film career, he never received an Academy Award for his many starring roles in film and television.
According to world media, it is said that the actor was suffering from a serious illness for a long time.
