Kristin Cabot, the woman behind the viral video of the summer's most sensational "kiss cam" betrayal at a Coldplay concert, decided to break her silence through an interview with The New York Times.
Her story confirms almost what many of us saw, but not everything had gone as far as we thought.

According to Kristin, before the scandal, nothing concrete had happened between her and Astronomer CEO Andy Byron (at least until that concert), not even a kiss. But the liking existed. They enjoyed the time they spent with each other, they started talking almost every day. This was not because work forced them, let's be clear. Apparently, they had a lot in common, including the current situation they had with their partners. The two were separating.

Her liking for him grew until she decided to invite him to a Coldplay concert in July. The distance they had maintained for months at work was forgotten there. A little drunk and in love, she started dancing with him.
"I did something wrong. I drank a few High Noon cocktails, danced, and behaved inappropriately with my boss."

However, Kristin Cabot thinks that even though they both appeared there, she took responsibility for everything, thus sacrificing her career.
“This is the price I chose to pay,” she said. “I want my children to know that you can make mistakes, you can fail miserably, but you don’t have to be threatened with death for them.”
The boss managed to escape the camera during the concert by just saying "fuck it, it's me," while she covered her face in shame.
“I was extremely embarrassed and shocked,” Kristin Cabot told the Times. “I’m the public relations director and he’s the CEO. It’s cliché, wrong and very bad.”

According to her, the two of them immediately sent an email to the Astronomer board of directors, but the algorithm does its thing and the images were distributed much faster than the time it took them to think about the message they were going to send.

It's not clear what situation Andy Byron is in with his wife, Megan Kerrigan, but she immediately removed her married name from her Facebook profile before deleting the account altogether.
Kristin Cabot said she and Andy Byron stayed in touch after the incident, but later agreed that "continuing communication would make the whole situation even more difficult."
