Actress Dakota Johnson and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin have decided to end their relationship after nearly seven years together. The couple began dating in 2017 and got engaged shortly after, but on June 4, it was revealed that they had split. According to a source close to the couple, the reason was that Dakota was ready to make the relationship official, while Chris was not.
"Their relationship has been over for a long time, but they just hadn't made it public until now," the source told DailyMail.

Meanwhile, another source confirmed to Page Six that Chris was tired of avoiding the process of setting a wedding date:
"He was tired of constantly postponing the wedding."

Ironically, news of the split came just days after the singer mentioned the actress at a Coldplay concert in Las Vegas on June 6, where Celine Dion was also in attendance.
"Thank you so much everyone... Don't forget to watch 'The Materialists'! We love you," he said on stage, mentioning Johnson's latest film.
Some fans saw this as a sign that the breakup wasn't real, but others believe Chris was simply supporting his ex-partner as a gesture of respect.
