After nine years of tumultuous love and a long engagement, Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry have ended their romantic relationship. But according to the British actor, although their paths as a couple have diverged, one thing remains common and untouchable: their love for their daughter, Daisy Dove.
"Daisy is our priority – always has been, always will be," the official joint statement released by the couple's representatives reads.
The statement notes that Orlando and Katy "have spent months transforming their relationship into a healthy partnership," and that they "will continue to be seen together as a family."
Their engagement officially ended a few weeks ago, but signs of a thaw had been felt for some time. Sources close to the couple revealed that "the problems had been present for years," and that the excessive workload in their professional lives made it increasingly difficult for them to communicate and find time for each other.
Orlando, known for his reflective nature, shared Jung's quotes on loneliness and new beginnings on social media, giving the breakup a deep emotional tone. Meanwhile, Katy Perry returned to the stage in Australia, amidst applause and unbridled emotions, thanking the audience:
"Thank you for always being there for me. It means a lot."
The couple met at a Golden Globes after-party in 2016. They broke up in 2017, but love brought them back together a year later, and in 2019 came the romantic proposal. Their daughter Daisy was born in 2020, bringing a new dimension to their lives, that of parenthood.
Today, they both maintain that role with full dedication, although no longer as partners in love.
"Sometimes love isn't enough to keep two people together. But it is enough to raise a child with dignity, respect and love," said a source close to the couple.
