A Massachusetts entrepreneur has spoken out about the end of his marriage to a tech executive who was infamously seen in July in her boss' arms during a Coldplay concert.
The news that Kristin Cabot had filed for divorce from her husband Andrew Cabot made headlines, weeks after she was caught on a so-called "kiss cam" cuddling with former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron, who was also reported to be married.
A spokeswoman for Kristin Cabot's ex-husband told PEOPLE that he and Kristin "privately and amicably separated a few weeks before the Coldplay concert."
“Their decision to divorce had been made prior to that evening,” the spokeswoman added. “Now that the divorce filing is public, Andrew hopes it will provide respectful closure to the speculation and allow his family the privacy they have always valued.”
“There will be no further public comment,” she said.
Andrew, 61, is the CEO of Privateer Rum. He has two children from a previous marriage, but he and Kristin have no children together.
Kristin was the head of human resources at Astronomer when she and Andy Byron were seen in the viral clip in the audience of a Coldplay concert in Massachusetts this summer.
The couple's unusual reaction, she quickly turning her back while he hid, led Chris Martin to joke that "either they're cheating, or they're just really shy."
Neither Kristin nor Byron have publicly commented on the nature of their relationship. According to NBC News, she filed for divorce in August.
The whole mess sparked hundreds of memes and mockery, putting the former colleagues in the international spotlight for days. Many online users claimed to have leaked and shared personal details about both families.
Both Kristin and Byron subsequently left Astronomer.
