Tom Cruise ka kthyer çmimet e fituara në Golden Globes si pasojë e problemeve kontroversiale të ndodhura së fundmi me organizatën përgjegjëse për eventin, "Hollywood Foreign Press Association".

Ylli i filmave fitoi çmimin e aktorit më të mirë në rolin e tij tek "Jerry Maguire" në 1997, "Born on the Fourth of July" në 1990 dhe çmimin "aktori më i mirë në rol jo-protagonist" në filmin "Magnolia" në vitin 2000.

Organizata jo-fitimprurëse, përgjegjëse edhe për Golden Globes akuzohet për mungesë diversiteti, mungesë të njerëzve me ngjyrë si pjesë e saj dhe për disa përfitime ekonomike që janë ende nën vëzhgim.

Nga ana tjetër edhe platforma televizive NBC ka njoftuar se nuk do ta transmetojë eventin e famshëm që vlerëson arritjet në kinematografi dhe seriale televizive, në 2022-in. 

"Ne vazhdojmë të besojmë që HFPA ka nevojë për një reformim kuptimplotë. Gjithsesi, ndryshimi do të kërkojë punë dhe kohë, prandaj NBC nuk do ta transmetojë Golden Globes në 2022-in."- u shprehën përfaqësues të NBC për CNN Business.

Më herët, ka qenë edhe Scarlett Johansson ajo e cila i ka kërkuar platformës të tërhiqej nga pjesmarrja në evente që sponsorizoheshin prej HFPA, pasi sipas saj kjo ishte një "organizatë e legjitimuar me pëlqimet e Harvey Weinstein."

Disa nga problemet e HFPA-së janë mbajtur sekret për vite me rradhë mes personave të brendshëm në Hollywood. Përveç NBC, Netflix, Amazon dhe WarnerMedia kanë bojkotuar gjithashtu organizatën HFPA.

Tom Cruise kthen çmimet e fituara në Golden Globes:

Tom Cruise has returned the awards won at the Golden Globes as a result of controversial problems that occurred recently with the organization responsible for the event, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

The movie star won the Best Actor Award for his role in "Jerry Maguire" in 1997, "Born on the Fourth of July" in 1990 and the "Best Actor in a Non-Protagonist Role" award for "Magnolia" "in the year 2000.

The non-profit organization, also responsible for the Golden Globes is accused of lack of diversity, lack of people of color as part of it and some economic benefits that are still under scrutiny.

On the other hand, the television platform NBC has announced that it will not broadcast the famous event that evaluates the achievements in cinematography and television series, in 2022. 

"We continue to believe that HFPA needs meaningful reform. However, the change will take work and time, so NBC will not broadcast the Golden Globes in 2022," NBC representatives told CNN Business.

Earlier, it was Scarlett Johansson who asked the platform to withdraw from participating in HFPA-sponsored events, as she said it was a "legitimized organization with the consent of Harvey Weinstein."

Some of HFPA's problems have been kept secret for years among insiders in Hollywood. In addition to NBC, Netflix, Amazon and WarnerMedia have also boycotted HFPA.
