Katy Perry has responded for the first time to the widespread criticism she received after her all-female spaceflight. The singer, in response to a fan's supportive video, said she is true to herself, open-hearted and honest, thanks to the connection she has with her fans.
“Please understand that I am okay. I have done a lot of work on myself to figure out who I am, what is true, and what is important to me,” she wrote. “My psychologist told me something years ago that changed my life: ‘No one can make you believe something about yourself if you don’t believe it yourself.’ So if I ever feel something like that, I explore the feeling behind it.”

She also said that the internet has become a place to vent the pain of those who are not at peace or healed. She said that for her, what matters is seeing fans every night at her concerts singing in unison.
“I find people at the concert, look them in the eye and sing with them and I know we are healing each other in some small way,” she added.
"I'm not perfect, and in fact, I've removed that word from my vocabulary. I'm on a human journey, playing the game of life with a large audience, and sometimes I fall down... but I get back up and keep playing," she concluded.
Perry's comment comes after her "Lifetimes" tour kicked off on April 23 in Mexico City.

Earlier this month, Perry was part of an all-female crew that traveled for about 10 minutes into space on a Blue Origin rocket. The flight sparked controversy, as various people, companies, and public figures like Olivia Munn and Emily Ratajkowski questioned the purpose of such a space trip.
