Prishtina/ Law students mark historic achievements in the international competition

The students of the University of Pristina, in the branch of law, have scored an extraordinary success in the international competition "Willem C Vis International Arbitration Moot", which takes place in Vienna, Austria.

They competed with 364 other nationally recognized universities and managed to leave 360 ??of them behind.

Vjosa Osmani, the president of Kosovo, was also very proud of their success, who through a post on Instagram expressed all her appreciation for the young people.

"Historical success! In the competition with almost 400 universities, the team of the law faculty of the University of Pristina, reached the top 3 best in the world! These girls and boys from Kosovo have left behind universities such as Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Columbia, Oxford, Cambridge, Princeton, Duke, LSE, and hundreds of other universities in the most prestigious law competition, "Willem C Vis". They also won a special prize for the Memorandum for the defendant", said Vjosa.

He continued: "This team here in the photo proves that only with hard work and dedication can anything be achieved. Proud as there is no more! Congratulations to the students Ariana Rexha, Dea Fetiu, Morea Pula, Melise Sejdiu, Nol Musa, Rea Hadri, as well as the Trainers: Prof. Donike Qerimi, Ilir Hajraj and Art Sylaj".

Even Albin Kurti expressed his pride on this historic achievement:

"The University of Prishtina marks a historic achievement, leaving behind 360 universities from all over the world. In the largest international law competition "Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition", the UP team is ranked in the semi-finals with the University of "Vienna, Bucerius and Tübingen. Also, at the awards ceremony, the team won the special prize for the Memorandum for the Respondent," he wrote in his Instagram post.

This year, the 31st generation, has triumphed against teams from universities such as: Charles University of Prague, University of Buenos Aires, University of California in Los Angeles, University of Tbilisi, The Catholic University of Australia, the University of Hong Kong for political science and law, and the University of Cincinnati. We congratulate the students of the Faculty of Law: Ariana Rexha, Dea Fetiu, Morea Pula, Melisë Sejdiu, Nol Musa and Rea Hadri, for their impressive success. as well as the coaches: Donike Qerimi, Ilir Hajraj and Art Sylaj".

The Vis Moot is organized by the Association for the Organization and Promotion of International Commercial Arbitration Willem C. Vis – Verein zur Veranstaltung und Förderung des Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, an Austrian non-profit association.

The purpose of the Willem C Vis International Arbitration Moot is to promote the study of international commercial law and arbitration and to provide practical training for students in the resolution of international business disputes.
