Drake has decided to speak out about his body and the rumors that have been following him for months. On an episode of the podcast “Not This Again” with Bobbi Althoff, the 38-year-old rapper addressed speculation about his six-pack that went viral in June. The photo of him showing off his toned abs prompted questions on social media about whether he had undergone cosmetic surgery or used Photoshop.
Bobbi Althoff asked him if he had had an "abdominal etching," a cosmetic procedure that focuses on the abdominal area to make it more toned. Drake denied any surgical intervention and laughed off the BBL rumors: "Some people call me 'BBL Drizzy,'" he said humorously.
He indicated that the photo was slightly affected though:
"I just got out of the gym, I was sweaty in that photo… maybe I turned up the saturation a little or something. I think I overdid it a little," the rapper admitted.
He assured fans that his muscles are largely the result of training and discipline, not the magic of Photoshop or surgical interventions.
In addition to the debate over his body, Drake also spoke about the rumors that circulated last year about a BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift, the process of transferring fat from other parts of the body to the buttocks, with the aim of lifting them) and the allegations that he had used steroids.
He said humorously:
"Unfortunately my muscles are real! I have respect for the community of guys with fake muscles, each with their own style, but the thing that makes me laugh is that this is how God created me."
Okay Drake, we believe you!
