The story of Lyle and Erik Menendez will be brought to the second season of the series "Monster". It will show the famous case and the many sufferings of two brothers, who were convicted in 1996 for the murder of their parents.
The series will be the continuation of "Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story", the series where the life and activities of the infamous killer, Jeffrey Dahmer (Evan Peters) are shown. Joseph Lyle Menendez, born January 10, 1968, and Erik Galen Menendez, born November 27, 1970, are two American brothers, convicted of murdering their parents. Although they testified that they committed the crime out of fear that their father would kill them after they threatened to publicize the emotional, physical and sexual violence, while others alluded that the crime was committed by the brothers, to inherit the fortune of thousands father's dollar bill.
In the summer of 1976, Lyle and Erik's cousin, Diane Vander Molen, visited their home. At that time, Lyle told him that he had been sexually abused by his father. In 1986, Jose's career took off and the family moved to Beverly Hills. Erik had a great talent in tennis. 2 weeks before the murder, Erik was registered in the Boy's Junior National Tennis Championship. Lyle, on the other hand, did not do very well in school and was expelled for plagiarism.

On the evening of August 20, 1989, Jose and Kitty were staying at their residence when Lyle and Erik entered with a shotgun. Jose was shot 6 times, while Kitty, 10 times. Before the fatal shot to the cheek, she lay on the ground, crying silently. The son, Lyle, once again went to his car, loaded the shotgun and returned to kill his mother.
After the crime, the brothers stayed at home, waiting for the police, after they had made the report. When police arrived, the brothers said the murder happened while they were watching the movie "Batman" and then the "Taste of LA" festival.
