Singer Marc Anthony has broken his silence on the Beckham family feud after his name was mentioned in Brooklyn's statement a few weeks ago. In an interview published on Monday, he told The Hollywood Reporter that the Beckham family is wonderful and that everything that's going on between them is very sad.
"I have nothing to say about what happened there. It's very sad how this situation is developing, but the way it's being presented is far from the truth," he said.
Marc Anthony is a close friend of the Beckham family. As he stated in the interview, he is one of the closest people to the family, has known Victoria and David since before they became parents and is also the godfather of their son, Cruz Beckham.
He was the singer at Nicola and Brooklyn's wedding, and his name was in the news after the latter posted a statement on Instagram. According to Brooklyn, when Marc Anthony called him on stage to dance, his mother, Victoria, came instead of Nicola, stealing the moment that belonged to the two of them.
"My mother stole my first dance with my wife which had been planned for weeks with a romantic love song. In front of 500 of our wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me on stage, when it was supposed to be my romantic dance with my wife, but instead my mother was waiting to dance with me."
During the confession , he expressed great shame at this act and said that he had never felt more humiliated in his life. However, according to what has been reported so far, various sources have claimed that the dance in question was not the first for the couple, but happened after they and the other guests had been dancing for a while.
Marc Anthony took the stage to perform. Then, he called Brooklyn over to dance with "the most beautiful woman in the room," who was not the bride, but Victoria.
