Immigrant protests: Trump sends National Guard to California
Former President Donald Trump has ordered the deployment of 2,000 California National Guard troops to Los Angeles, despite the objections of Governor Gavin Newsom, following repeated clashes between protesters and federal immigration forces.
Newsom reacted on social media, calling the decision a "deliberate and cowardly" move that "will escalate tensions" and accusing the federal government of creating a chaotic situation with the intent to interfere.
At least 27 protesters have been arrested so far, as the escalation of the protests continues.
Ukraine repels record Russian attack: 499 missiles and drones
In an attack of unusual magnitude, Russia launched 499 aircraft, including suicide drones and ballistic missiles, towards Ukraine on Monday.
Ukraine's air defense forces said they had neutralized 479 of them: 292 were shot down and 187 were detected by radar.
This attack also included sophisticated missiles such as the "Kinzhal" and various types of anti-radar missiles.
Israel says activists will return to their country
Israel has detained a ship carrying aid to Gaza and confirmed that the group of activists on board, including Greta Thunberg, will be returned to their countries of origin.
Israeli authorities announced that the aid will be sent to Gaza through official channels.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry called the mission a "celebrity selfie yacht" and described it as a propaganda act.
Lavrov criticizes the West over Kosovo, links it to the intervention in Ukraine
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov sharply criticized Western countries for their role in Kosovo's independence, saying that the principle of self-determination was used unfairly.
During a speech in Moscow, he stated that Kosovo declared independence without a referendum, unlike the case of Crimea, using it as an argument to justify Russian intervention in Ukraine.
He also accused Great Britain and other countries of supporting what he called "terrorist attacks" in Donbas and efforts to eradicate the Russian language.
