Previously unreleased audio recordings of Michael Jackson expressing "intimate" thoughts about children will be made public in a new television documentary.
The singer is heard speaking openly about his feelings and unusual interest in children, to the point where at one point he is heard saying that if he didn't have them around, he would be willing to give up his life.

“If you told me now… Michael, you would never be able to see any children again… I would kill myself,” he says.
He immediately added: "The kids love my personality. Sometimes that causes me problems."

These recordings create a new perspective on the close bond Michael Jackson had with his child cancer survivor, Gavin Arvizo, who later accused him of sexual abuse during a criminal trial in 2005.
The documentary reflects on the trial that year, which focused on the friendship between the two.
During 2005, Michael Jackson faced several serious charges, including sexual assault and intoxication of a child, as well as conspiracy to hold him and his family hostage. At the conclusion of the trial, he was found not guilty of all charges.

British production company Wonderhood Studios has provided these recordings for Channel 4's new documentary titled "The Trial", which airs next week.
An inside source, who has heard the recordings, said:
“There is something extremely unusual and disturbing about Michael Jackson’s obsession with children, especially those who were not his own. To hear his voice speaking about children in this way, given that he was accused of sexual abuse, raises many questions about his mental health, psychological state and, unfortunately, his intentions. This is Michael at his most honest, showing us even more openly that he was ‘in love’ with children and obsessed with wanting to be around them. He saw nothing wrong with bringing children into his home and bed, without parental supervision, justifying these actions as friendship and a desire to help them. He even went so far as to say that most of the children he pampered fell in love with him.”
According to the source, these expressions uttered by a single man in his 40s are very disturbing.
The source also added: "There is also footage that has been released showing how Michael cared for Gavin during his battle with cancer. Many doctors thought his diagnosis was fatal, but Michael never gave up hope. He would tell Gavin that he looked like an angel to him."
Meanwhile, executive producer Tom Anstiss said that the singer's stories in those recordings are very true, so much so that in some parts as he talks about the children he begins to cry.
