In mid-September, exactly 16, Lizzo turned to the US Postmates company - which hires couriers to deliver goods to various locations - claiming their employee tried to steal their food.
?Hey @Postmates, this girl in the picture named Tiffany W. stole my food. It is fortunate that today I am no longer starving, ?wrote Lizzo. The singer also posted a photo of Tiffany, a move that was not ethical at all. Although the post was subsequently deleted, Lizzo was heavily criticized by followers.
?I apologize for posting that girl. I realize I have a lot of followers and I could put him in danger. I was really irresistible about how I used social media, "she said.
Shortly after apologizing, TMZ reported that Tiffany W. "was afraid to leave home to go to work for fear that someone might hurt her."
Now, Tiffany Wells is suing Lizzo for intentional slander and emotional distress. According to documents provided by TMZ and Pitchfork, the lawsuit was filed in a California court yesterday.
Referring to the data, Wells' lawyers say she took food from Luke's Lobster in Boston and set out to send her to the Revere Hotel, where Lizzo was staying. Wells tried to bring the food to the singer's room, but to no avail. Wells says that after Lizzo (nicknamed Bonnie V.) did not respond, she left.
So far, Lizzo or her lawyers have not responded.
