Let's just say it looks like a hovercraft and a larger version of a regular drone.
A Chinese electric vehicle manufacturing firm, Xpeng, tested a prototype electric flying car in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The trial offered a glimpse of the revolutionary technology that can transport people through traffic-heavy cities.
According to CNBC, the car named X2 is one of dozens of flying car projects around the world. It can carry two passengers, is powered by a set of eight propellers and can reach speeds of up to 130 km/h.
The car is fully electric and emits zero carbon. It can hold up to 500 kg.
“The flying car is a luxury item and many high net worth individuals are in search of such luxury technology and products. Dubai is where we have customers," said executive director for international offices at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Omar Abdulaziz Alkhan.
The test of the electric flying car is considered a glimpse into the future, where people can fly above the city to their destination while avoiding traffic.
