"Climate change has not stopped," warns EU climate monitor

Despite the end of a series of record global temperatures, Europe was hit in July by extreme heat, deadly floods and widespread wildfires.
July was the third warmest month on record in the world, with above-normal temperatures in countries such as Norway and Finland, which experienced unusual heatwaves, while Turkey hit a historic record of 50.5 degrees Celsius.
Experts warn that, although the wave of global records has been "temporarily" interrupted, the effects of climate warming are increasing and immediate action is required to avoid worsening.

The attack is considered one of the most serious war crimes in the Sudanese conflict, but has passed without any strong international reaction.

Late Wednesday, the US president told reporters at the White House, when asked when he would meet with the leaders of Ukraine and Russia: “There is a high possibility that there will be a meeting very soon.” Trump said there had been no specific progress leading to discussion of a meeting, but that US officials had been working on it for “a long time.”
