On Monday evening, the news that the famous couple has completed the divorce proceedings has received the attention of the media. Five months after J.Lo filed for divorce, official documents confirm their separation, and some details of the settlement are indeed up for debate.
As a reminder, Jennifer filed for divorce on August 20 – exactly on their two-year wedding anniversary in Georgia. She announced that the date of separation was April 26, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reasons for the separation, a now classic expression of Hollywood stars.
But what does the divorce settlement include?
According to TMZ, the two will keep the property and assets they earned individually during the marriage, and neither will pay spousal support. Additionally, Ben will retain his stake in the production company Artists Equity, while J.Lo will retain her major projects completed during the marriage. As for their $61 million mansion, sources have not revealed.
Another interesting detail? J.Lo will officially drop the last name Affleck and return to her publicly known name.
The news about the finalization of the divorce comes after a source close to them had stated to "Us Weekly" that the pair was experiencing "remaining doubts" and "hesitations" about the separation. Even "a small chance" for reconciliation was mentioned. The source added that “J.Lo has spent the night at Ben's house several times. When things go well between them, they are very good, but when they are bad, they are really bad. They feel better as friends and if the situation has improved after the separation, this is a reason for the divorce to be finalized."
Apparently, they have chosen to end their marriage, but their relationship remains good – perhaps for their own good and future projects.
