Iker Casillas, the former goalkeeper of the Spanish national team and Real Madrid, is not gay! His statement on Twitter, which grabbed the headlines, was not actually made by him. The ex-footballer says his Twitter account was hacked.
"My account was hacked. Thankfully everything is ok now. I apologize to all my followers and even more sorry to the LGBT community."
In the later-deleted status, Iker allegedly wrote:
"I hope you respect me: I'm gay," he wrote, and many fans and colleagues welcomed his courage and statement.
The 41-year-old has made history as one of the best goalkeepers and has won 19 cups in his career.
The former goalkeeper separated from his wife, model and moderator Sara Carbonero, in 2021.
Although they admitted that they parted ways, they promised to continue to stay close for the sake of the 2 children they have together.
