Liam Payne's ex-fiancée Maya Henry has claimed that the singer 'predicted' his death just days before the tragedy happened. The influencer, who dated the former One Direction member from 2018 to 2022, opened up about his struggles with mental health and the alleged abuse she experienced with him.
"He was always texting me since we broke up [saying], 'Oh, I'm not well,'" she said. "He always played with death and said: 'I will die. I'm not good.'”
Henry, now 23, described his messages as a way to manipulate her emotions, to make her feel empathy for Liam even after their relationship ended. "I tried to offer him help, but he wouldn't accept it," she added.
"Then he wrote to my mother: 'I'm not well, get Maya to contact me,' because I didn't want to answer.
She claimed that at one point, the "Steal My Girl" singer called her mother and said: "I won't be here for much longer."
"I don't play with death," she said. "If you make such statements, I will try to help you regardless of what you have done. I think he took advantage of my family's kindness."
Henry explained that he had tried to help Payne get back into rehab, but eventually felt his behavior was manipulative.
“He always said, 'I'm so sorry for everything I've done. I can't live with myself,' but then he kept trying to traumatize me,” she said.
The "Perfect" singer was facing legal trouble with Henry, who had claimed that Payne would not stop trying to contact her.
Liam Payne shocked people after he fell from the balcony of a hotel in the Argentine capital and died from his injuries.
