The American judge who heard the defamation lawsuit filed by "Pirates of the Caribbean" star Johnny Depp against his ex-wife Amber Heard, rejected Heard's request to dismiss Depp's lawsuit.
The actress's lawyers asked Judge Penney Azcarate to dismiss the lawsuit. They claimed that Depp had failed to prove that he had been slandered for her in the 2018 article published in The Washington Post, in which Heard described himself as a "public figure representing domestic abuse".
The judge said that so far enough evidence had been presented to allow the case to continue and she would leave it to the jury to decide.
Johnny Depp has filed a lawsuit over the fact that her claims and accusations have ruined her career and damaged his reputation. The actor claims that he never hit Amber Heard, her allegations of domestic violence are fabricated and it was she who used violence during the marriage.
