The footballer of Egnatia, Raphael Dwamena, died on the field, in the middle of the game against Partizan, after suffering a cardiac arrest. He fell unconscious on the field, while first aid was immediately given to him.
It is reported that the 28-year-old striker had heart problems for years and was advised to retire from football. According to Klan, his heart problems had been diagnosed since 2017.
The Ghanaian footballer had also suffered 2 heart attacks, one in October 2019 and another again in a Cup match, where he was immediately hospitalized.
In the third heart attack, he was immediately taken to the Kavaja hospital, but he could not survive. According to doctors, he had arrived at the hospital without signs of life.
Raphael loved life and thought that it is the most precious gift he has. In a video that is circulating online, for his birthday, he said: "The best birthday gift is that I'm alive. This is the most important thing. Many people are not here among us and have passed away. The most beautiful thing that God has given me is life."
