Almost sixteen years after the disappearance of Bleona Mata, new details have been made public on the show "Pa Gjurmë" on Report TV. In a telephone conversation with journalist Odeta Dume, a man who claims to have information about the incident, revealed that Bleona, who went missing in the city of Kukës, was kidnapped thanks to some people close to her family and taken to the city of Vlora, where the witness also lives.
"We have information that Bleona Mata was brought by the people of Bukurie to Llakatund. From Llakatund they sent her to Picar [another village in Vlora]. Here she knows a lot about the village, but they have problems because the secret is out."
The witness claims that Bleona was kidnapped by the husband of the daughter of a man who lived near the village where Bleona lived, in Kukës. According to him, this girl had a past as a sex worker in Greece and at the time he took Bleona, he isolated her in the village of Llakatund and then in Picar in Vlora.
"She said she was my daughter, but she's lying because she doesn't have a daughter of her own, she doesn't have children. She also adopted another girl or found her from somewhere, I don't know. She married him when he was 15, took him back and they ran away to Germany."
According to the caller, the couple were unable to have children, but kidnapped Bleona and then another girl, whom they called their daughters when asked in public. The anonymous witness claimed that they moved to Greece for a period, returned to Vlora and are now in Germany. He added that he thinks that the woman's husband, who also carried out Bleona's kidnapping in Kukës, is part of a gang and may have had police assistance in the whole incident.
Bleona's mother, Bukuria, also heard the call, who thanked the caller, confirmed that she had similar information, and appealed again for help in finding her daughter.
Bleona disappeared on May 22, 2010, while grazing cattle with five other girls, her relatives. At the time, and even years later, the case of the little girl, who must be around 22 years old today, shocked the entire public, as there was no trace that could turn on a light at the end of the tunnel and the evidence was constantly changing.
