Although overthinking is a calorie-burning activity, the energy lost is minimal. However, you need to tire and train your brain by thinking, because the benefits go beyond burning calories.

To be clear, the body burns calories every moment. Even now that you are reading to us, the body burns calories by helping the respiratory system, blood circulation, body temperature and digestion.

The brain specifically gets energy from glucose, which comes from food. It enters the blood and travels to the brain. Although the brain itself only contributes 2% to your overall weight, it burns 20% of the total energy you expend in a day.

But it is worth noting that burning calories while thinking does not contribute to weight loss, since to get to that point you have to strain your brain to limits that harm your overall health.
