TikTok has a new manifestation technique and people guarantee it works

Manifesting can seem like a lot of work. When you hear about someone manifesting for more money, the perfect relationship, or career success, it often means they’re making a vision board, journaling, or repeating affirmations in front of the mirror every morning. These habits are meant to keep you focused and on track, ensuring that the universe is on your side, but sometimes it can feel like a lot of work.

That’s why many people on TikTok are keeping it simple by turning their passwords into affirmations. Instead of writing “sufflaqe1234,” for example, they’re writing specific affirmations like “deserve all the love,” “everything works for me111,” and so on.

Why does this technique seem to be working?

Since I type passwords all day long — to open my laptop, to check my email, etc. — every moment is an opportunity to stop and reflect on what I’m aiming for.

@brittanysodoraleonor changed her laptop password to a New Year’s affirmation. “Now every time I log in, I have to type my vision word,” she said.

“It's a very easy way to remind yourself consciously and unconsciously what you are trying to attract into your life.”

What do the event experts say?

The password manifesting trick works for both daily mantras about health, love, and wealth, and for specific goals. Creator @watermelongorly said she uses it at work, where she has to change her password every three months on her company laptop.

She sets passwords that relate to something good she’d like to experience, have, or achieve, and adds a bunch of exclamation points at the end to give it more positive energy. “[This] is how I start my day by thinking about this,” she said in a TikTok. “It’s a way to manifest that takes almost no effort — and it really works.”

@winningwithbrittney also uses it to advance her career. “If you’re looking to get a raise, your password could be ‘thankyoufortheraise888,’” she says.

According to Mimi Bouchard, an expert in the field of manifestation, manifestation is not about wishing for something and hoping it will happen, but about becoming the version of yourself that already has it. "It's an alignment of your energy, thoughts, and habits with the future you're calling," she tells Bustle.

"By changing passwords to affirmations and including some 'angel numbers', such as 111 or 333, you help empower the manifestation process by constantly reminding yourself of a new belief or idea," adds Missy Toy Ozeas, who works as an energy healer.

As you work toward your goals, these daily reminders keep you in the right frame of mind to see the opportunities that arise and also make you feel like what you want is already yours.

Repetition is also key.

“A password may seem like a small thing, but it’s something you write down every day — maybe multiple times a day,” says Bouchard. “When it’s a powerful affirmation, it becomes an unconscious cue. You’re sending the message to your nervous system: ‘This is my version now.’”
