According to Uswitch, (a website that compares services and prices in England), 62% of people in the UK have problems with mold in their homes at some point in their lives. Mold is known to cause a number of problems, including respiratory problems, infections, allergies or asthma.
The point is that mold is caused by an accumulation of moisture, and one of the sources of this situation can be condensation. Condensation occurs when steam or moisture collides with a cold surface.
This phenomenon is more pronounced in winter because when it is cold outside, you are less likely to open the windows. But if you're showering or drying clothes with the window closed, this can lead to moisture and mold. This also happens due to poor ventilation in the house, closed windows or humidity.
Petya Holevich, a cleaning expert spoke to The Sun about best practices when it comes to home ventilation. She pointed out that the ideal time to open the windows is during the warmest part of the day, as this is the best time when the air outside is drier.
The expert advised to open the windows either in the late morning or early afternoon. So in simpler words, not too early in the morning and not too late in the afternoon.
By airing out the home during this time, you allow fresh air to circulate through the home, which helps remove moisture without the need for additional heating.
You have nothing to lose if you try it!
