In an interview for Señal News, the managing director of "Love Island" at ITV Studios, Arjan Pomper, said:
"Extending to 25 territories is a fantastic milestone. This globally loved show is breaking records everywhere and we're really excited that audiences in Albania and Malta will be enjoying the first local seasons of 'Love Island' very soon!”
He revealed that Tv Klan has bought the license for two seasons and the program will be directed by Luana Vjollca. The first season is scheduled to air this spring.
Anabel learns that the contestants will be staying in one of the largest villas at the Green Coast resort in Palasa.
"Love Island" is a successful and highly influential program in Britain. It involves a group of contestants, referred to as islanders, who live isolated from the outside world in a villa, monitored by camera.
In order to survive in the villa, residents must mate with another villa resident, whether for love, friendship or money. The overall winning couple receives a total of £50,000.
Any resident who remains single is eliminated. Competitors can also be eliminated through public voting. They face games and challenges, designed to test physical and mental skills. At the end of the season, the public votes to determine the winning couple.
Love Island became ITV's most-watched show in the network's history in 2018, and since 2020 has been the most-watched TV show among 16-34 year olds.
