5 Possible Reasons Why You Have Chest Pain

Hormonal changes

The most common cause of chest pain has to do with a hormonal change that comes along with your periods. This normal reaction of the body to changes in estrogen usually manifests itself in swelling and tenderness in the days before periods. These are called cyclic pains and are related to your menstrual cycle.

Chest muscle pain

Sometimes it may seem like you have chest pain, but in fact it can also be muscle pain that is located under the chest. In this case you can apply various means to warm up and direct the pain elsewhere. Trying too hard in the gym, moving furniture or freezing bags that weigh can stretch your chest muscles. And in this case it is again about the muscles and not just the chest.

Inadequate underwear

The wrong underwear can have quite serious consequences for your chest. If they are too small they can put pressure on your chest by hurting it. Whereas if they are too large, breast movement during the day can lead to breast tenderness. For this reason it is necessary to have suitable underwear.

If your breasts are large, it is important that they have support when doing exercises. A recent study says that of marathon runners, 1 in 3 report having chest pain. In these cases make sure you get suitable workout clothes.

Having fibrocysts

If you have been identified as having tissue technically known as fibrocystic, then you are probably well aware of breast sensitivity related to your menstrual cycle. These gland-causing tissues are not necessarily associated with breast cancer. However, they may be more sensitive to hormonal changes.

Consumption of coffee and tea

While coffee and tea may not directly cause breast pain, some studies show that removing caffeine from your diet can help reduce pain, especially for women with fibrocystic cystic tissue.

Generally, temporary chest pain and tenderness should not raise any red flags, nor should they send you to the doctor’s office. They usually only last a few days and then disappear. If the pain lasts longer or gets worse, then it is time to see your doctor. Also, make it a habit to constantly check your breasts to make sure there are no changes in appearance, texture, or softness. If you notice something you have not noticed before, it is best to make an appointment with your doctor.
