After the Kosovo government canceled weddings, calling them high-risk ceremonies for the spread of Covid-19, some singers took part in a protest where they said concerts and weddings were the only way to secure income.
Their concern is fair, though it must be said that the form in which they chose to raise the concern is strange, why not it can be dangerous.
In protest without masks and gloves, Labinot Tahiri said that "the virus is a lie" and that "he has given his hand to 10 thousand people."
"I have given my hand to 10,000 people. I know there will be an internationally influential man around the world who means this virus is a lie. Are we 20 together? Tell me after a week if anyone gets sick, if someone gets infected by me, I take responsibility for it and go to jail for you. ?
In the same protest, singer Edona Llalloshi added:
?While many businesses in Kosovo have started working, then why not allow our work to be allowed? This is not only a concern of the singers, of the variety show, this is a chain one, this is also related to other issues, with individuals who depend on this decision. ?
Actress Delinda Disha is also of the same opinion as Labinot Tahiri and thinks that "Covid-19 is a hoax".
Covid-19 is a big scam to open panic in the population to get the vaccine. But we all need to be together to say 'NO'. A lie that is destroying people psychologically and economically. " - she writes on Instagram.
In March, Robert Berisha, as he was preparing for a concert in New York, said that "our scene will burn" and invited people to go to the concert. He even went so far as to say that "you are not a real Albanian if are you afraid of the virus ?as if the virus asks that you are Albanian.
To summarize, the interpretation of these statements is complex, as we have the clash of health authorities on the one hand with the freedom to openly express the opinion on the other hand, whether this opinion is a conspiratorial theory or an internal conviction for a particular situation. However, it is worth noting that such statements and protests without protection, as long as such characters have some influence on the followers, can cause disregard for the rules of social distancing. Coronavirus may indeed be a "big lie," but health authorities have not confirmed anything. Until then, it would probably be good to keep the beliefs and theories to ourselves as long as this virus is all unknown.
