A few days ago, British media reported that Dua Lipa had fired her manager, David Levy, due to his pro-Israel stances and opposition to pro-Palestinian artists in the music industry. The story spread quickly, with even the band Kneecap publicly sharing it, giving the news more traction.
But now, the singer and her agency WME have categorically denied the claim. WME points out that Levy has not been involved in Dua's day-to-day affairs since 2019 and has since completely withdrawn from her projects.
"Reports that Dua Lipa or her management fired an agent because of his political views are completely false," their statement said.
Dua Lipa also reacted harshly on Instagram:
“I do not support the actions of David Levy or other industry leaders towards an artist who speaks his truth. I also cannot ignore the way this story was handled by the media. Not only was the story completely false, but the language used by the Daily Mail was deliberately provocative, written purely for clicks and clearly designed to incite online division. Always Free Palestine , but exploiting a global tragedy to sell newspapers is deeply troubling.”
