Swedish director Ruben Ostlund was awarded the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival for his film "Triangle Of Sadness".
This is the second time Ostlund has won the prestigious award after "The Square" in 2017. The fable of "Triangle of Sadness" is based on the story of two models and a cleaner who get stuck on a desert island with a group of billionaires.
"We wanted (people) to go out together after the show and have something to talk about," Ostlund said. "We all agree that the unique thing about cinema is that we are watching together. So we have to save something to talk about, but we also have to have fun and have fun. ”
Other notable winners were Belgian director Lucas Dhont for "Close" and Claire Denis for her film "Stars At Noon", who both won the "Grand Prix".
