Justin Baldoni’s $400 million lawsuit against Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds has been dismissed. According to documents obtained by PEOPLE, U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman signed a new order on Friday, Oct. 31, stating that Baldoni and his partners at Wayfarer Studios had missed the deadline to pursue their claims, after the case was initially dismissed last June.
The judge notified all parties on October 17 that he intended to issue a final judgment. Only Blake Lively responded, requesting that the judgment be finalized but with the condition that legal fees remain in effect, a request that the judge granted.
The ruling marks the latest chapter in a legal battle that began in December, when Blake Lively sued Justin Baldoni for inappropriate behavior on the set of the film It Ends with Us and a smear campaign, allegations the actor has denied. Lively's original lawsuit remains open.

Baldoni's countersuit, seeking $400 million in damages from Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds and their publicist, was dismissed, as was a separate $250 million lawsuit he had filed against the New York Times.
Following the court's decision, Blake Lively reacted on Instagram Stories, writing:
"Like many other women, I have felt the pain of a revenge lawsuit and the fabricated shame it tries to inflict on us. Even though the lawsuit against me was dropped, many women do not have the resources to fight back."
The actress added that she is now "more determined than ever to defend every woman's right to protect herself, her safety, her dignity and her story."
Blake Lively's lawyers, Esra Hudson and Mike Gottlieb, described the ruling as "a complete victory" for their client, noting that "it was clear from the beginning that the '$400 million lawsuit' was without merit, and the Court confirmed that."
On the other hand, Justin Baldoni's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, called Lively and her team's reaction a "false announcement of a predictable victory," claiming that the case involves "false accusations of sexual harassment and a smear campaign that never existed."
