The holiday season has officially begun, at least according to Mariah Carey.
At midnight on November 1, the pop star released the new video for the now iconic song "It's Time," marking the unofficial start of the Christmas season.
The video, which has become a viral tradition in recent years, shows the singer announcing the end of Halloween and the beginning of her favorite time of year.
This time, Carey has collaborated with comedian and actor Billy Eichner for a new version of the holiday countdown, in partnership with Sephora.
The video begins with Mariah Carey dressed as an angel, declaring that "Halloween brought so much joy," before adding with a sly smile: "But now... it's time!"
The moment is interrupted when she discovers that her belongings have been stolen and asks: "Tell me, who is the thief?"
At that moment, Eichner appears, dressed as an elf, holding her cosmetics.
“I have bad news, Mariah Carey,” he says. “The elves are on strike this year. Santa’s helper has resigned and I’m selling everything to pay for the elves’ therapy.”

But Mariah Carey doesn't give up. "You can't cancel Christmas," she replies firmly, before icing Eichner and exclaiming, "It's time!" as the familiar notes of "All I Want for Christmas Is You" begin to play.
However, unlike previous years, especially those of the pandemic, when its return was greeted with much joy, this year's reactions have been more mixed. According to some followers, this is due to the fact that this year's scenario is not so inspiring. Others think that this whole tradition is becoming somewhat tiresome, noting that the premature celebrations and decorations overshadow other holidays, such as Halloween.
