In May 2017, the government approved an increase of 24,000 ALL of the minimum wage, but by a decision taken by the Council of Ministers today, it has been decided to increase the minimum wage again by 2000 ALL.
So, moving from 24,000 to 26,000 leks for 174 hours per month.
As you can read, the statement says:
- The minimum monthly basic salary for employees at national level, which is compulsory for any person, legal or natural, domestic or foreign, shall be 26,000 (twenty-six thousand) ALL.
- The minimum monthly basic salary will be given for 174 hours of work per month, carried out during normal working hours.
- The minimum hourly basic salary will be 149 (one hundred and forty-nine) lekë.
- Additions of permanent character will be given on the basic salary.
This decision enters into force after January 1, 2019.
