"The Idol" was canceled by HBO after its first and apparently last season.
The series from "Euphoria" creator Sam Levinson and Abel Tesfaye, aka The Weeknd, will not be returning for a second season.
The decision was not a huge surprise given the criticism of the series, which starred The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp.
Several of the actors mentioned the possibility of a second season during interviews, although the idea of ??multiple seasons was not in the plans of the producers.
According to data released by HBO, the series sparked interest at first, but viewership declined later. The criticism was not at all positive; some considered it "boring", "longer than it should be", "with strange sexual content" and "sex scenes filmed for viewing purposes"
The Idol tells the story of pop star Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp) and her complex relationship with nightclub owner, guru and cult leader Tedros (The Weeknd).
