While it was announced that the health condition of the queen was worrying, Prince Harry immediately left for the castle where Elizabeth was located, but without the presence of Meghan.
Everyone was surprised by the absence of the duchess, but Meghan did not go for one major reason: Charles (the current king), asked Harry not to take her with him to see closely the condition of the queen (who passed away at the age 96-year-old).
A source told Page Six that: “Tensions were very high and there was no way Meghan was going to Balmoral. The fact that it was initially said that Harry and Meghan would both go, but then the statement was corrected and only Harry was mentioned - speaks volumes about the drama behind the scenes."
Another source for The Sun added more fuel to the fire and claimed that "Charles told Harry that it was not appropriate for Meghan to be present at Balmoral at such a sad time", making her clearly Meghan was not welcome. King Charles supported his argument with the fact that even Kate Middleton would not be in the castle, as only close family members would be present.
Now, after the death of the queen, Meghan has joined the royal family and is performing all the appropriate rites and traditions to honor the monarch who reigned for more than 70 years on the throne of the United Kingdom.
