To explain the terms: Associate is a professional working in or for a company or business. A partner is someone who owns a part of a company / business and is ranked higher in the decision-making and profit hierarchy. So, the partners (partners) receive a part of the firm's profits, in addition to their salary, while the associates have a predetermined salary as well as can receive rewards for their performance.
