The most annoying part after the holidays are over is taking down the tree, a moment we postpone as much as we can.
But is there a "right" time to take down the Christmas tree? According to one religious tradition, yes.
Whether you're a stickler for rules, a little superstitious, or just curious about old customs, here's the official day you should say goodbye to the festive tree.
When does Christmas officially end?

Although December 25th is the day when millions of families around the world celebrate Christmas, Christian tradition says that the holiday lasts until Epiphany, which is celebrated by many believers on January 6th, a full 12 days after Christmas.
This religious holiday is also known as “Three Kings Day,” as it commemorates the visit of the Magi, when the three Wise Men brought gifts for the baby Jesus. This day also marks the beginning of the “season of Epiphany” in the church calendar.
When should you remove the Christmas tree?

Since Twelfth Night or Epiphany marks the official end of the holidays according to tradition, that is when seasonal decorations should be removed.
Some even believe that if you keep the tree up too long after the festive season is over, it can bring you bad luck.
