At a time when connections are often born through apps or social networks, the acquaintance between actor Callum Turner and world-famous singer Dua Lipa seems like something out of a romantic movie.
In a recent interview with the Sunday Times , Turner told how they met, what was the first sentence he said to Dua, and how their shared love of books became the start of a beautiful story.
Their first meeting took place in Los Angeles, over coffee before a mutual friend's birthday party. Sitting next to each other, they discovered, quite by chance, that they were reading the same book: the award-winning Trust by Hernán Díaz.
“I had just finished the first chapter and I told him,” Callum recalls.
“Then she said to me, 'I just finished the first chapter too.'”
He didn't miss the opportunity to make a meaningful comment: "So, we're on the same page." And that was just the beginning.
Their acquaintance quickly turned into something more. The couple was first seen together in January 2024, when they were photographed after the premiere of the series Masters of the Air, in which Turner plays the lead role. Just a few days later, they were seen in romantic moments at a restaurant in Los Angeles, confirming what had already begun to be rumored.
Their first official appearance as a couple took place at the 2025 Met Gala, where they won everyone's attention and sympathy.
A few months ago, it was confirmed that the couple is now engaged.
