The legendary Bolshoi Theater in Moscow has announced that it will broadcast the best classic shows on YouTube , free to all , in response to restrictions imposed to slow the spread of coronavirus.
The announcement came after the Moscow mayor on Thursday ordered the closure of all non-primary services in the country and encouraged residents to stay home.
The ballet and opera hall will air six of its best performances, and the broadcast began on Friday with the Lake of the Milk.
Some of Bolshoi's Golden Collection's most popular performances are Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty (March 28) or Nutcracker (April 10).
The Bride of the Tsar (April 1), Marco Spada (April 4) and Boris Godunov (April 7) are also expected to air.
