CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg has built his wife a boxing wooden box that helps sleep. But why?
His wife, Priscilla Chan, cares for the two little girls they have together. "Being a mother is difficult," writes Zuckerberg on Instagram. "Ever since we were done with children, Priscilla had trouble sleeping and could not sleep at night."
"She wakes up and checks the phone to see how much time it takes to figure out when the kids are going to wake up, but knowing how much time is, gets stressed and no longer sleeps."
The invention of Zuckerberg - called the "sleeping box" - emits a soft light between 6 and 7 am. That way, Chan realizes when girls can wake up without having to control the phone.
Since the box does not indicate the time it is, Chan can sleep again without fearing to wake up too late. The light is strong enough to feel if Chan is the wake of awakening, and so soft enough not to worry if it is in deep sleep.
Zuckerberg made public his idea if an entrepreneur would realize it on a large scale to help more people.
"As an engineer, to build a device for my partner to sleep better, is one of the best ways to express my gratitude and love," writes Zuckerberg. "Many of my friends have told me that they need something similar."
