The new edition of "Grande Fratello Vip", expected to start in March 2026 on Canale 5, will be presented by Ilary Blasi, who makes a strong return to the screen after months of absence and especially after the failure of "The Couple", which was canceled before the finale. Her name had been rumored for a long time (the alternative was Veronica Gentili), but the decision was consolidated after the withdrawal of Alfonso Signorini, who had been presenting the reality show for the last 5 years.

Alfonso Signorini stepped down from the show after being embroiled in a heated media scandal over allegations made on Fabrizio Corona's "Falsissimo" project. At the same time, he was also under investigation by the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office for serious charges (sexual assault and extortion) following a complaint by a former "GF VIP" contestant. To avoid repercussions for Mediaset, Signorini chose to take a step back and suspend himself.

According to a Mediaset announcement, "Grande Fratello Vip" will last just six weeks, far from the marathon editions of the past that stretched up to six months. The reality show will be produced by Endemol Shine Italy and aims for a renewed approach, with faster paces, but maintaining the identity of the format.

After the premature closure of "The Couple" (later described by Pier Silvio Berlusconi, the administrator of Mediaset, as "a poor television product"), Ilary Blasi returns to a scene she knows well: Grande Fratello.
She has already hosted three VIP editions and, ironically, one of them had Fabrizio Corona himself as a contestant. Without the media explosion of "Falsissimo" and the accusations against the "Signorini system", Blasi's return to hosting "GF VIP" would most likely not have happened.
And if these aren't games of chance, then what are they? :)
