Macaulay Culkin, through an Instagram post, reacted to the news of the death of actress Catherine O'Hara.
"Mom, I thought we had time. I wanted more. I wanted to sit next to you. I listened to you, but I had so many things to tell you. I love you! We will meet again," he wrote next to two photos of himself with the actress.

Macaulay Culkin has previously considered the actress a mother figure, recalling their time working together on the set of "Home Alone." Catherine O'Hara supported the actor during his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in December 2023.
“'Home Alone' was, is and always will be a beloved film for everyone… the reason families around the world don't let a year go by without watching and loving 'Home Alone' together is because of Macaulay Culkin,” she said that day.

The actress and her husband, Bo Welch, once experienced a "Home Alone"-like situation with their sons, Matthew and Luke.
"We were in New York once... Bo and I got on the train, we came back, and as the doors were closing we realized they weren't there... I screamed and people screamed with me," O'Hara recalled in January 2024.
The doors then opened again and the boys joined their parents.
“I just feel bad when I think about what could have happened,” she said.
