After months of silence, Jay-Z has decided to speak, not with interviews, but with verses.
During Beyoncé's concert in Paris this weekend, where Jay-Z took the stage as part of the "Cowboy Carter" tour, he changed a famous line from the song "N**s in Paris," which was once an iconic collaboration between him and Kanye West.
Instead of the original line “just might let you meet Ye,” Jay-Z stylishly said: “just might let you meet Bey.” In the context of the song, this is a status-implied line, like “if you’re lucky, I might introduce you to Bey.” And yes, the internet immediately realized that it was a clear “diss” towards Kanye.

This change comes just months after Kanye posted a lewd and offensive tweet about Jay-Z and Beyoncé's children, Rumi and Sir. In a now-deleted tweet, he used offensive language towards the twins, prompting widespread backlash online.
Jay-Z has not publicly responded to that comment, so far. And apparently, he chose the most elegant way to do it: through stage and art.
Although Jay-Z has previously called Kanye "brother" and spoken of their complicated relationship, this change in lyrics seems like a clear dividing line. From once close friends and collaborators, today in a strained relationship that perhaps has no room for improvement.
