Johnny Depp's lawyers have asked the court to uphold the verdict - which forces Heard to pay Johnny Depp $10 million in damages after Heard's lawyers asked for the verdict to be overturned, including on the grounds that a juror was replaced by someone else.
In court documents filed Monday, Depp's lawyers dispute arguments from Heard's team that the jury's verdict was frivolous and unreasonable. They also say Heard's team's complaints about the juror's identity are irrelevant.
In documents filed Friday, Heard's legal team said "newly discovered facts and information" about a juror meant a mistrial should be declared. The lawyers said that one of the individuals originally called to serve in the trial had been replaced by someone else (his 52-year-old son).
Depp's lawyers argue that if Heard's team had concerns, they should have spoken up at the time, and also added that it was too late for Heard's team to challenge the decision on the juror's identity.
Judge Penney Azcarate has not yet indicated whether she plans to hold a hearing on claims to overturn the decision.
