"Friends" star Matthew Perry has opened up about his opioid addiction, which almost turned fatal a few years ago. In an interview with People, the actor revealed that his alcohol addiction had only just begun when he joined the cast of Friends as Chandler Bing in 1994, when he was just 24 years old.
The 53-year-old has admitted that he has spent millions of dollars trying to get the right treatments and cure his addiction.
"I spent about $9 million trying to get sober," he said.
His addiction escalated over the years and in 2018, it nearly cost him his life.
