A serious case of violence has occurred in the Home for the Elderly in Peja, where an elderly woman is abused by a nurse, while being filmed and mocked by several others.
The images were posted on social networks and the nurse is seen continuously slapping the elderly woman, while her colleagues laugh.
The police reacted to the incident by arresting two people suspected of the crime, while thousands of reactions have come from Albanians on social networks, severely condemning the violence and denigration of the elderly woman.

KKRMT calls on the public authorities to deal with this case as soon as possible and to punish the persons involved. Also, KKRMT calls on government institutions for effective supervision of the treatment of persons placed in special institutions such as old people's homes".
