Nicole Scherzinger, 46, shared her feelings about the sudden loss of Liam Payne, in her first interview since the tragedy. During an appearance on "Good Morning America" ??in New York City, she expressed her heartbreak over the 31-year-old singer's death, highlighting their closeness and recent collaboration on the "Building The Band" project.
Scherzinger was one of the key figures in helping Payne become a part of One Direction during The X Factor in 2010.
On Instagram, Nicole published a statement, where she remembered the time they shared together, from the creation of One Direction until the last moments a few weeks before his tragic death. "I will forever cherish the time we shared together," the singer wrote alongside selfies with Liam and Kelly. Working with you recently was a blessing. We shared the same love and passion for music and I will always remember the meaningful and joyful conversations we had.”

Nicole admits she has had a hard time accepting that Liam has passed away. "I'm grateful to have known your kind heart, your soul and your sweet character," she said of the One Direction singer. "You brought so much joy, light and laughter into the lives of those who truly knew you."
Payne died after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, leaving his fans and friends shocked.
In her interview, Nicole emphasized that Payne was a man who was led by heart and kindness, hoping he will always be remembered that way. She ended the interview with touching words for Liam, describing him as a sweet soul and a dear friend who will always be in her heart.
