Britney Spears and ex-husband Kevin Federline have been embroiled in a public spat over Spears' relationship with their two children.
On Wednesday, Britney Spears claimed that her sons Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, ignore her.
"I know teenagers are just hard to deal with at this age ... but come on now, it's about being rude and hating others. They visited me, walked in the door, went straight to their room and shut the door," she wrote. "I wonder why they come to visit me if they don't even visit me!!! But I never said that because I have to be polite."
Britney ended the caption by writing, “It breaks my heart because I feel like cruelty actually wins these days, even though it's not about winning or losing!!! But I can't fathom how I have dedicated 20 years of my life to those children. Everything was for them!!! For them to send me away."
In response to Spears' post, her ex-husband's attorney, Kevin Federline, told TMZ that the children have chosen to distance themselves from the singer of their own accord.
Later, Federline posted on his Instagram account a series of edited videos from four years ago, where the singer was shown arguing with the boys. In the caption, he said he and the boys decided "as a family" to release the videos and that "the lies must stop."
On Thursday, Spears' attorney, Mathew Rosengart, responded in a statement to People and asked Federline to respect the privacy of his ex-wife and their children and considered his action "cruel" and "violating social norms."
